English is the official language of New Zealand, with fresh environment and beautiful scenery, both on and off campus provide excellent learning and living environment. Compared with other western countries, there are fewer Chinese here, and the cost of living and tuition are lower than other countries. It has always been one of the popular places for Hong Kong students to study abroad.
The education system of New Zealand adopts the British, with six years of primary school(Year 1-Year6), seven years of middle school (Year 7-Year 10 & NCEA Level 1-3), three years of university. At the beginning in 2004, the NCEA (National Certificate of Education Achievement) fully replaced the previous university entrance examination bursary. Students in New Zealand start from the eleventh class and have to take three levels of NCEA certificates (NCEA Level (80 credits), NCEA Level 2 (sixty credits), NCEA Level3 (sixty credits)). Universities consider students applications for admission based on their NCEA credits and grades for each credit.
